Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The Roman Catholic Diocese of Toluca (erected 4 June 1950) is a suffragan diocese of the Archdiocese of Mexico. Along with the Dioceses of Acapulco, Chilapa and Tacambaro, it lost territory when the Diocese of Ciudad Altamirano was erected in 1964. It further lost territory in 1984 with the formation of the Diocese of Atlacomulco. On Thursday, November 26, 2009, it lost territory again when Pope Benedict XVI created another suffragan diocese for the Archdiocese of Mexico, the Diocese of Tenancingo. The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Mexico (erected September 2, 1530, as the Diocese of Mexico) is a metropolitan diocese, responsible for the suffragan Dioceses of Atlacomulco, Cuernavaca, Toluca and Tenancingo. It was elevated on February 12, 1546.
