High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Rui Reininho (born 1955) is since 1981 the lead vocalist of Portuguese rock band GNR. Singer, author of numerous lyrics and songs, he was one of the most loved by the media - and often controversial - symbol of the Portuguese rock scene. He was born in Porto. Reininho recorded his first LP in 1977, with the Anarband band. The GNR only started to play in concert from 1980 onwards. They used to play for Carvalhido Church parochial parties in Porto and other similar events in the area. Rui Reininho went to a concert of GNR in Pavilhao do Academico (a sports pavilion in Porto) in order to interview the band and was eventually invited to join the group. In 1981, Reininho recorded his first album with GNR and remained with the band.
