The Russia women's national beach handball team is the national team of Russia. It is governed by the Handball Union of Russia and takes part in international beach handball competitions. Beach handball is a team sport where two teams pass and bounce a ball, trying to throw it in the goal of the opposing team. The game is similar to team handball, but is not played in a sports hall but on sand instead. Matches are played in two or three sets, depending on when a team wins their second set of the game. Team handball (also known as handball, Olympic handball or European handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outfield players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball to throw it into the goal of the other team. The team with the most goals after two periods of 30 minutes wins.
