High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Saint Sacerdos (Sacerdos de Calviac, Sardot, Sadroc, Sardou, Serdon, Serdot) of Limoges (670—ca. 720) is a French saint. He was born near Sarlat and became a monk. He was the founder and abbot of Calviac Abbey. He was later appointed bishop of Limoges. Siguenza claimed him also as one of its bishops. A monk is a person who practices religious asceticism, living either alone or with any number of monks, whilst always maintaining some degree of physical separation from those not sharing the same purpose. The concept is ancient and can be seen in many religions and in philosophy.
