High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! USS Kalmia (1863) was a steamer acquired by the Union Navy during the American Civil War. She was used by the Union Navy as a tugboat in support of the Union Navy blockade of Confederate waterways. Kalmia, a screw steamer, was built as Innes at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in 1863 and purchased for the Navy by Rear Admiral Hiram Paulding 5 October from her owner, Arron Innes, Poughkeepsie, New York. Renamed Kalmia 24 April 1864, the Naval Register of 1865 lists her as assigned to the North Atlantic Blockade Squadron as a fourth-rate tug. No further record of her other naval service has been found.

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! A very recent realm of anthropology is the study of sacred food, which is one of the most important elements of many religions. All religions have prescriptions about the correct preparation and cooking of food, besides the taboos about forbidden subjects (for instance, animals for hinduism, pork for judaism and islamism, etc.). Many religions have special spellings for the food, which sacralize it and, therefore, who will eat it; but there are foods sacred by its inner nature. In Brazilian candomble by example, fishes are sacred for their connection to Iemanja, horns given the relation to Iansa. Consequently those foods are considered offerings.
