High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Safet Isovi? (6 January 1936 – 2 September 2007) was a prominent sevdalinka performer from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Throughout his career, which started in 1956, Isovi? performed at music festivals and won many of them which has contributed to the prevalence and popularity of the sevdalinka. He won the Golden Microphone award in SFR Yugoslavia as well as 35 silver and gold record awards. Isovi? was also a SDA delegate in the Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He died in Sarajevo, on September 2, 2007. On September 3, 2007 he was buried at Ali Pasha's Mosque. At a memorial service held at the National Theatre of Bosnia and Herzegovina he was called the Father of Sevdalinka by Beba Selimovi?.
