Wolfestown is the name of the township in which it is located. It was named after General James Wolfe. Les Appalaches is a regional county municipality (RCM) in southeastern Quebec, Canada, in Chaudiere-Appalaches. It was established in 1982 from parts of the counties of Beauce, Frontenac, Megantic, and Wolfe. The county seat and largest city is Thetford Mines.
