It is currently not open for service due to little development around the area. It is operated by SBS Transit.Samudera means sea in Tamil. It is a Tamil word that is also used in the Malay language to mean "sea". The station is located close to the sea.The Punggol LRT Line is the third line of the LRT system in Singapore. Its first phase comprises a 10.3km line with 15 stations. Similar to the Sengkang LRT Line, its rolling stock and line operator are the Crystal Movers and SBS Transit respectively. The Punggol LRT Line serves the residents in the town and urban planning area of Punggol. While as of 2007[update] Punggol is less densely populated than other towns, there are plans[citation needed] to turn it into a new town housing hundreds of thousands of people.
