High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Scald were a doom metal/viking metal band from Yaroslavl, Russia. They played traditional style of doom metal. Their lyrics were based mostly on Viking war themes, which was not usual within the traditional scene of doom metal at that time. Scald members also liked to describe their music as "ancient doom metal". Although they had released only one album, Will of Gods is Great Power, Scald remained as a significant doom metal act from Russia and have a cult following status in doom metal scene in their homeland. After the death of their singer Agyl on September 6, 1997, the remaining members decided to end Scald and later formed a progressive/folk metal band Tumulus.
