High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Scientometry is the scientific field that studies the evolution of science through some quantitative measures of scientific information, as the number of scientific articles published in a given period of time, their citation impact, etc. In a highly controversial form, the scientometry is applied as the mere basis for evaluating performance and funding of different scientific units (institutions, teams, individuals). Science, as one of the most intellectually demanding and very complex human's activities, cannot be simply evaluated by any universal "scientometric" formula. A subproblem of measuring some quantitative aspects of scientific information is treatable, though.
