Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The Short Sporting Type Seaplane was a single-engined folder biplane which first flew in 1919, Shorts' first post-World War I aircraft. Originally designed to an RAF specification (RAF XXXII)[1] issued during the war for two training seaplanes, three aircraft were produced as a commercial venture. Only the first was sold, the other two being cannabalised for parts and then scrapped in 1924. Note: Frequent references to the Short Shrimp refer to this aircraft type, although this name was applied to the first Sporting Type only.
