History of Central Asian Christianity. This research book presents the history of the Church in the East from a view of a Central Asian scholar. The goal is to show that Christianity has deep roots in Asia and it is not a western idea as it has been stereotyped for many centuries. This has been done by investigating previous literature of both western and eastern scholars, as well as examining material evidences found in Kyrgyzstan. Upon examination of these resources, it be-comes clear that Christianity has been a major religion of many Central Asian tribes – the ancestors of modern Kyrgyz, Kazakh, Uighur, Mongol and other nations. Through showing that Christianity was an inherent part of Central Asian people, this research highlights the importance of the non-biased ap-proach to religious history in the region for developing holistic self-identity for modern Central Asians and their relations with the surrounding world.
