Ottis Dewey Whitman, Jr. (born January 20, 1924), known professionally as Slim Whitman, is an American country music singer and songwriter, known for his yodeling abilities. He has sold in excess of 100 million albums in unit sales and although mainly retired from the mainstream and limelight, he remains a true legend of the Country and Western music industry. During his seven decades in the music business, he has been known for his dapper appearance and pencil-thin mustache. He is known also by his nickname, "The Smiling Starduster."
