It was released in 2003, accompanied by a music video directed by Nathan "Karma" Kox. Songwriter Jesse Smith describes this video as a story about the end of a relationship, and the feeling that there is nothing you can do but watch it happen: "I was picturing it like being forced to watch it being played out in a movie - like the scene in A Clockwork Orange where the guy is tied up in the theater with his eyes pinned back." Cauterize was an alternative rock band from Canada that was active between the years 1995–2007. Most notably its guitarist, Chuck Coles, went on to play in ex-Sum 41 guitarist Dave Baksh's heavy metal band Brown Brigade and most recently started his own southern rock project along with Cauterize drummer Matt Worobec.
