High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Something Happened (Swedish: Nagonting har hant) is a controversial Swedish educational film about AIDS directed by Roy Andersson. Finished in 1987, it was rejected by the client because of dubious claims about the AIDS virus's origin. Today it is regarded as a significant step in the development of the style seen in the director's later and more acclaimed films. In 1986 the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare contacted Roy Andersson, a then commercial director who hadn't made a drama since 1975, and assigned him to make an information film about AIDS to be shown in Swedish schools and to conscripts. Before the film was finished, however, the Board told Andersson to abandon the project, having seen the finished parts and questioned his sources, while at the same time being sceptical of the overall approach. However, Andersson continued working on the film and eventually finished it.
