High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Sonnit are a German New Pop Band from Braunschweig, who imprint the German Independent-Popscene since 2000. The Band was originally founded under the name Eat her Eyes in 1996. With this name they came in second in the talent competition "brand: newcomer talent quest" initiated by MTV in 2000 and got themselves a record deal with Sony. Shortly afterwards the current bandname Sonnit was established. In June 2002 the first studio album called Popgun was released, produced by Roland Spremberg. Sonnit became famous in Germany as they performed as tour-support for Fury in the Slaughterhouse in spring 2002 during their "Color-Fury"-Tour. Between summer 2002 and 2003 their first single Heaven Is Close became a radiohit and circled three months in the airplaycharts. The accomanying video rotated the music television channel Viva for four weeks.
