She currently (2009) plays Cherry Malone in the BBC Birmingham's daytime soap opera, Doctors. In a July 2007 episode of the BBC Birmingham's daytime TV soap opera, Doctors, she played the role of Tilly Ruffell. She was brought back to the series in 2009 in the role of the bubbly and gullible Nurse, Cherry Malone, a character who first entered the soap on 6 April 2009. In November 2009 Abelson had a major storyline, what saw her character, Cherry Malone's boyfriend, Scott Nielson die, due to drugs. The police thought Cherry was also taking drugs, even though she was not, they had no evidence so Cherry was let off and the case was closed.
