Sophie Powles born 16th September 1988) originally from Cleethorpes, a seaside town in North East Lincolnshire, an English actress most famous for her roles as Ronnie in ITV musical series Britannia High and as Holly Barton in the ITV soap opera Emmerdale. Since a very young age Sophie has been involved with the performing arts in and out of school. She undertook her secondary education at Humberston School Grimsby year 2000-2005. Powles has guest-starred in dramas such as Holby City and Dalziel and Pascoe before landing her role in Britannia High. Her character Ronnie was the only one of the main cast who was not a student at the fictional school of performing arts. It was announced on 21 May 2009 that Powles was to join soap opera Emmerdale as new character Holly Barton. Powels appearance in Emmerdale is slightly different, due to the fact she has changed her hair colour to Brown, rather than her natural blond . Her character's brother is played by Waterloo Road actor Adam Thomas.
