He studied in Greece and the United Kingdom and became known after his design of Toyota Yaris, introduced in 1999. He is also responsible for a number of concept cars as well as the Lexus SC300 and Lexus SC430 models. Since 2002 he has designed scooters and motorcycles for Nipponia, a motorcycle company based in Athens, Greece. The Toyota Vitz, a 3 and 5-door hatchback (sold in different markets as the Toyota Yaris and formerly as the Toyota Echo), is a line of subcompact cars first launched by Toyota in 1999, designed by Sotiris Kovos. In Europe, the Americas, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, the Vitz is sold as the Yaris Liftback (or simply Yaris).
