Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. The Sound Collective is an orchestra based in London. The Sound Collective is an orchestra founded in 2003 by a group of professional musicians who were already members of professional orchestras, including the Philharmonia, London Symphony, English National Opera, RTE Symphony Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic and the Royal Ballet Sinfonia as a reaction against the tendency of "dumbing down" classical music for an increasingly small and conservative audience. One of the principles of the orchestra is that no piece is to be performed if it has not been properly rehearsed: Sound Collective rehearses three times more for a normal evening concert than the average professional orchestra in the United Kingdom. Another difference is that musicians are very involved with orchestra on a practical level (programming, agenda etc).
