Sound Shattering Sound is the major label debut by Perth alternative rock band Gyroscope released on 14 June, 2004 in Australia and debuted a week later on the Australian album charts in the top 40. The first single from the album was "Safe Forever", in April 2004. A video was recorded for the song, in which the band was playing in front of a large red screen. It gained the band a little popularity. The second single was "Take This For Granted". In the video, the band was playing in what appeared to be a construction site throughout the song. Scenes of the band were mixed with scenes of police investigating a crime scene.
