Leo Bonetti`s study in self-improvement is a real eye-opener, a genuine surprise in a world full of `how-tos`. But it`s a timely reminder that while mankind is born free, everywhere he is in chains. Maybe once the chains were visible - literally, shackles on slave labourers. Now they`re shackles on the mind; the ties that bind us to power, greed, money and possessions. The way to cleanse ourselves is to recover our true essence - our original innocence. We can do this by reprogramming our minds, becoming aware of our emotions and asking ourselves, `What are we consciuos of?` Yoga and reiki can help us to do this. In persuasive poetry and prose, the author calls out directly to all of us trapped in the spiral of dissatisfaction so typical of 21st-century life: `What you send out will be sent back to you`; and `Change the way you perceive yourself, and the world around you will also change. You could add, `Be kind to the beggar at the gate, for he is someone inside you asking for love.`
