Flowers and birds are integral elements in the original culture of Peterhof. They thrived, and survive to this day, in the palace interiors and the paintings, sculpture, furniture, porcelain and glass ornaments, and bronze statuary that fill the rooms. The palaces at Peterhof demonstrate how representations of birds and flowers have evolved in Oriental, European and Russian art.
