After firing Britain`s first liquid-fuelled ballistic rocket he started commercial life, gaining experience and qualifications in marketing, finance and production. Later he specialised in company recovery and was for ten years the industrial advisor to a City investment bank. In addition to specialised work he has served as chairman, director and chief executive in a wide range of industrial and commercial companies. Latterly he became interested in the patterns of history, economics, climate, warfare and a range of other themes. He is currently a member of groups on either side of the Atlantic studying future trends. He has written several treatise and papers on these subjects. He is married and has three children and twelve grandchildren. He and his wife have lived in Hertfordshire for nearly fifty years.
