Jack London (1876 - 1916) was an American novelist, journalist and social activist. Pioneering the genre of magazine fiction and prototyping science fiction, he became one of the first writers, who gained worldwide fame and a large fortune. As a road novel set at the Turn-of-the-Century, "The Valley of the Moon" follows the journey of a working-class couple of Oakland Billy and Saxon Roberts through central and northern California in search of beautiful land they can farm.
