High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Tobermorite is a calcium silicate hydrate (CSH) of general approximate chemical formula: Two structural varieties are distinguished: Tobermorite-11 A and Tobemorite-14 A (see also Plombierite). Tobermorite (CSH) occurs in hydrated cement paste and can be found in nature in particular conditions, e.g., as alteration mineral in metamorphosed limestone (e.g. in the Maqarin Area (North Jordan), or in Crestmore (Riverside County, California, USA)) and in skarn. A first specimen of tobermorite was found in 1880 in Scotland, on the Isle of Mull, around the locality of Tobermory.
