It was originally anchored Kent Shocknek, Carla Aragon, and Christopher Nance. Since then it expanded to one-hour, then ninety minutes, and, finally, two-hours in 2000. The show currently airs from 4:30am -7am. Since its inception, Today In L.A. has become a top ranked newscast, and inspiration of the local morning news concept. KABC and KCBS began airing morning newscasts in 1989. KTLA and KTTV followed during the early 1990s.
