The predecessor of the school was founded in 1888, and it was chartered as a junior college in 1956. In 2002 it became a four-year liberal arts college with a small student body of no more than 480 pupils. Students graduating from TJKC receive a bachelors degree in International Liberal Arts.Women's colleges in higher education are undergraduate, bachelor's degree-granting institutions, often liberal arts colleges, whose student populations are composed exclusively or almost exclusively of women. Some women's colleges admit male students to their graduate schools or in smaller numbers to undergraduate programs, but all serve a primarily female student body.
