Dumont is a member of third wave ska band No Doubt, and during the band's hiatus, he began Invincible Overlord as a side project and produced Matt Costa's Songs We Sing. Dumont and his wife Mieke have two sons together: Ace Joseph Dumont, born April 6, 2006 and son Rio Atticus Dumont, born June 18, 2008. According to the band's record label representative, the couple was married in October 2004. According to his No Doubt band mates, when Dumont drinks enough alcohol he becomes an alter-ego doppelganger named "The Douche".
