The land where the school building sits was donated in 1998 by Thomas O. Hicks, owner of over 400 radio stations, Chairmain of the Board and owner of the Dallas Stars hockey team as well as the Texas Rangers baseball team. The school is the first two-story elementary school to be built in LISD. The school`s colors are royal blue, silver and black and is represented by their mascot the Timberwolves.
