Thomas "Tom" Joseph Kirby (December 21, 1904 – November 9, 1968) was an American boxer who competed in the 1924 Summer Olympics.He was born in Boston, Massachusetts.In 1924 he was eliminated in the quarterfinals of the light heavyweight class after losing to the upcoming bronze medalist Sverre S rsdal.Sverre S rsdal (August 5, 1900 – March 21, 1996) was a Norwegian boxer who competed in the 1920 Summer Olympics, in the 1924 Summer Olympics, and in the 1928 Summer Olympics.He was born in Hamar.In 1920 he won the silver medal in the light heavyweight class after losing in the final to Eddie Eagan. Four years later he won the bronze medal in the same weight division when he won the bronze medal bout against Carlo Saraudi.
