High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! The Rt Rev Tom Longworth was an eminent Anglican Bishop in the middle third of the 20th century. He was born on 8 January 1891 and educated at Shrewsbury and University College, Oxford and ordained in 1916. From 1927 to 1935 he Rector of Guisborough and then Benwell before his elevation to the Episcopate as the second Bishop of Pontefract. with the additional title of Archdeacon of the area. Translated to Hereford in 1949 he retired in 1961 and died on 15 October 1977.Shrewsbury School is an independent co-educational public school for pupils aged 13 to 18, founded by Royal Charter in 1552. The present campus to which the school moved in 1882 is located on the banks of the River Severn in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England. It is one of the original nine Clarendon Schools that were defined by the Public Schools Act 1868 Originally a boarding school for boys, girls have been admitted since 2008 and its mixed gender roll of around 680 includes approximately 130 day pupils.
