Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. Tomiko Suzuki (Suzuki Tomiko) (January 3, 1956 - July 7, 2003) was a Japanese seiyu. She was born in Aichi Prefecture and was a member of Aoni Production. Her last film was Pokemon: Jirachi Wishmaker (she voiced Jirachi) which was released only a week and half after Suzuki's death from a heart attack on July 7, 2003 at the age of 47.Voice acting in Japan has far greater prominence than in most other countries. Japan's large animation industry produces 60% of the animated series in the world; as a result Japanese voice actors, or seiyu, are able to achieve fame on a national level.Besides acting as narrators and actors in radio plays, and performing voice-overs for non-Japanese movies and television programs, the seiyu are extensively employed as character actors in animes and video games. Popular seiyu, especially female ones such as Kikuko Inoue, Megumi Hayashibara, Aya Hirano, Aya Hisakawa, Mitsuki Saiga, Nana Mizuki, Paku Romi and Kugimiya Rie, often have devoted international fanclubs. Some fans may watch a show merely to hear a particular seiyu.
