High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Toni Onley, OC (November 20, 1928–February 29, 2004) was a Canadian landscape painter. Born in Douglas on the Isle of Man, he moved to Canada in 1948, and lived in Brantford, Ontario. His artworks includes a huge collection of watercolours depicting the northern Canadian landscape. Icebergs, trees, water and coasts are the prominent features in his artworks where the stroke of his brush is a particular detail that defines the natural scenario in his works. The chosen colours are the essential part in his view. Onley would paint natural subjects according to his view to create beautiful landscapes in the Canadian tradition. He was made an Officer of the Order of Canada in 1999, and died at the age of 76 on the Fraser River in British Columbia as he was practising flying an LA4 buccaneer amphibious plane by landing and taking off.
