High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Tony D'Souza (born on July 2, 1974) is an American novelist and short story writer. He has published two novels, Whiteman (2007) and The Konkans (2008). Whiteman garnered the Sue Kaufman Prize from The American Academy of Arts and Letters. His short fiction work and articles have appeared in The New Yorker, Playboy, Esquire, McSweeney's and Tin House. D'Souza was born and grew up in Chicago. He is multiracial with a Mangalorean Catholic father and a Caucasian American mother. He obtained a Masters Degree in writing from Hollins University and the University of Notre Dame. He also obtained a 2006 NEA Fellowship, a 2007 NEA Japan Friendship Fellowship, and a 2008 Guggenheim Fellowship. D'Souza also served 2.5 years in the Peace Corps in Cote d'Ivoire where he was a rural AIDS educator.
