The A9 Toshiba laptop was the last laptop part of the first generation of laptops (from the alphabetic series) launched within the Toshiba Tecra series (after 2001). It was the direct successor of Toshiba Tecra A8. Although it was not developed as a back-to-back product, in comparison with Tecra 500CDT, and Tecra 510CDT, the A8 was by far a stand-alone product, since Toshiba delivered the A9 notebooks within five different configurations. The A9 was also the ninth product in line released in the first generation alphabetic Tecra series (after 2001).
