High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Tropical Depression One-C was the first and only tropical cyclone to form in the central Pacific basin during the 2005 Pacific hurricane season. The depression formed out of an area of disturbed weather associated with the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) in early August. The disturbance was declared Tropical Depression One-C on August 3 while located 1,000 mi (1,610 km) east-southeast of Hilo, Hawaii. The depression was initially forecast to become a tropical storm, but strong wind shear and a lack of development prevented intensification from occurring. One-C degenerated into a remnant low-pressure area on August 4 and was last noted when it passed by the island of Hawaii between August 6 and 10. Heavy rains from the remnants caused minor flooding. However, no significant property damage was reported.
