The ceremony takes place prior to the following Pro League season`s opening match. There are now awards for player, coach, referees, and match commissioner of the year. Other individual awards are given to the best position players, including the best goalkeeper, defender, midfielder, and forward of the year. There are only two team award recipients each year: Best Team and Most Disciplined Team of the Year.
