High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Umai, also known as Ymai or Mai, is the mother goddess of the Turkic Siberians. She is depicted as having sixty golden tresses, that look like the rays of the sun. She is thought to have once been identical with Ot of the Mongols. The Hindu goddess Uma may also be same as Umai. The Turkic peoples (or simply Turks or Turkics) are Eurasian peoples residing in northern, central and western Asia, Mongolia, southern Siberia and northwestern China and parts of eastern Europe. They speak languages belonging to the Turkic language family. They share, to varying degrees, certain cultural traits and historical backgrounds.
