It is numbered as a spur of U.S. Route 30, which runs from Astoria, Oregon to Atlantic City, New Jersey. US 730 stretches 42 miles (68 km) from Interstate 84 and U.S. Route 30 east of Boardman, Oregon northeast to U.S. Route 12 near Wallula, Washington.
