High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! USS LST-549 was a United States Navy LST-542-class tank landing ship in commission from 1944 to 1946. During World War II, LST-549 was assigned to the Pacific Theater of Operations. She participated in the Morotai landings in September 1944. She then took part the Philippines campaign, in which she participated in the Leyte landings in October and November 1944, the Lingayen Gulf landings in January 1945, and the Mindanao Island landings in April 1945. Following the war, LST-549 performed occupation duty in the Far East and saw iin China before departing in mid-February 1946 to return to the United States.
