High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! USS Washburn (AKA-108) was a Tolland-class attack cargo ship of the United States Navy, named after Washburn County, Wisconsin. She was designed to carry military cargo and landing craft, and to use the latter to land weapons, supplies, and Marines on enemy shores during amphibious operations. She served as a commissioned ship for 24 years and 11 months. A large scale model of the ship is in the U.S. Navy Museum in Washington, DC.
