The song is in the chanson mode, popular in the early years of the Contest. Noel asks her listener to "tell love" that she is waiting for him and that she is seventeen. She describes the dramatic feelings she hopes will be involved in their eventual meeting. Noel also recorded the song in German, as "Wann kommst du zu mir".
