Born a few hours before Valentine's Day, hence his name. Son of an architect, he was introduced to magic by his father. Prolific writer of magic, biographer of great magicians, he had published since 1952 over 1000 books and booklets. He also authored Sherlock Holmes pastiches and Houdini's novels. Lived for many years in Brighton, than in London ( from 1943 onwards ) where he joined the LSM.
