Valentina Igoshina began studying the piano with her mother, and first took lessons at home at the age of four. She studied piano under Sergei Dorensky and Larissa Dedova at the Moscow Conservatory. Igoshina has also served as a teacher of special piano at the Peter Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow.
