The population was 3,990 at the 2000 census.According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 5.2 square miles (13.5 km ), of which, 5.2 square miles (13.5 km ) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 km ) of it (0.57%) is water.As of the census of 2000, there were 3,990 people, 1,508 households, and 883 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 767.9 people per square mile (296.3/km ). There were 1,694 housing units at an average density of 326.0/sq mi (125.8/km ). The racial makeup of the CDP was 82.41% White, 13.63% African American, 0.28% Native American, 2.66% Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander, 0.35% from other races, and 0.63% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.60% of the population.
