High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! The Velvet Knights Drum and Bugle Corps , a.k.a. VK, is currently an Open Class Drum Corps based in Pasadena, California. The corps takes its name from the Anaheim Velvet Knights who were active from the 1960s until the late 1990s. The Anaheim Velvet Knights became a DCI Division 1 corps in the 1980s and was famous for humorous, irreverent, and entertaining shows. The corps was directed for many years by Jack Bevins. The corps placed their highest rank in 1987 when they tied for 7th place in the World Championships with the Star of Indiana. The VK was in the "Top 12" from 1984 until the mid-'90s.
