Viktor Alexandrovich Hartmann (Russian: Виктор Александрович Гартман; 5 May 1834, St Petersburg - 4 August 1873, Kireyevo near Moscow) was a Russian architect and painter of Volga German ancestry. He was associated with the Abramtsevo Colony, purchased and preserved beginning in 1870 by Savva Mamontov, and the Russian Revival. Hartmann was orphaned at a young age and grew up in St Petersburg in the house of his uncle, who was a well-known architect. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in St Petersburg and at first started working by illustrating books.
