The Taco Shop Poets wanted to create a venue that would help in cultivating the next wave of Chicana and Chicano artists in the Border Region. The space has hosted such notable guest as Lila Down, Harry Gamboa, and Howard Zinn.The space is now a multicultural art space. It presents art shows, music events as well as other forms of visual and performing arts. It is a vital contributor to the cultural fabric of San Diego and the surrounding Border Region.
