This place acts as the junction between the Central station train route and Beach line train route. Vyasarpadi is the name of the place and Jeeva is the name of veteran socialist leader Jeevanandam. In memory of his presence in Vyasarpadi the station is named as Jeeva.A famous Shiva temple named 'Ravishwarar Temple - Murthy Iyengar Street, Vyasarpadi' which is built in the Chola's period is situated here still in very good condition. The lord shiva is named Ravishwarar. It is said the lord is worshipped by the Sun.
